Google has introduced search feature for shopping deals, empowered by the expansive Google Shopping Graph, a repository of worldwide shopping information. This update is complemented by a slew of enhancements to Google Chrome, amplifying its shopping-centric capabilities. Although Google doesn’t officially label it a shopping portal, the functionality aligns with the essence of a web portal, aggregating shopping data from across the web for user-friendly navigation.

Chrome, in both its mobile and desktop versions, now boasts several shopping-oriented modifications, with a primary focus on aiding users in finding the best deals for their holiday gifts, acknowledging the concerns of eight out of ten shoppers. The objective behind these enhancements is to offer users twice as many deals on their desired products. Some of the notable features encompass:

1. Search Advancements with Google Shopping Graph: Empowering searches with a wealth of data from the Google Shopping Graph.

2. New Deals Page on Google Search: A dedicated deals page within Google Search for easily locating enticing offers.

3. Chrome Features for Discount Discovery: Improved features in Chrome for identifying discounts across various websites.

4. Price Insights Tab on Desktop Chrome: A novel feature on the desktop version of Chrome, providing “price insights.”

5. Enhanced Price Tracking: Enhanced price tracking capabilities across multiple merchants.

New Google Search Deals Destination

To access the new shopping feature, users can simply search for “Shop Deals,” leading them to a dedicated shopping deals destination that resembles a portal. This portal offers users the ability to discover the lowest prices across ten categories. The deals encompass markdowns, sales, and promotions, and these categories include:

– Electronics

– Women’s Apparel

– Men’s Apparel

– Home & Garden

– Toys & Games

– Sports & Outdoors

– Health & Beauty

– Travel & Luggage

– Baby & Kids

– Pet Supplies

The Shop Deals page is thoughtfully organized, featuring:

1. A navigational menu highlighting the ten shopping categories.

2. A carousel showcasing deals from specific stores.

3. A listing of specific deals categorized meticulously to cater to users’ more granular shopping needs.

New Shopping Features on Chrome Mobile & Desktop

Google Chrome’s new updates extend to both mobile and desktop versions. Users opening a new tab might encounter deals on products they’ve previously explored, conveniently located in the “resume browsing” card. Moreover, a new “Discount tag icon” in the Chrome address bar reveals available coupon codes when users visit shopping sites, with merchants retaining control over where these codes are displayed through their Merchant Center settings.

Shopping Insights Feature

The Chrome Shopping Insights feature is now also integrated into the desktop version. A “Shopping insights” label in the Chrome address bar, when clicked, unveils a side panel featuring typical prices, a price history graph from the past 90 days, and a button to track price drops from any ecommerce store offering the same product.

Shopping Bell for Discount Notifications

Last but not least, mobile Chrome now includes a shopping bell icon alongside product names, which provides price alerts not only for the retailer currently being browsed but also for any retailer offering the same product if its price drops. This comprehensive set of enhancements aims to revolutionize the shopping experience for users across the Google ecosystem.
