Google has introduced additional markup and structured data support specifically tailored for new vehicle listings, aiming to enhance the visibility of car dealerships’ listings. This feature enables car dealers to showcase their available inventory on various Google platforms, including Google Search. Additionally, Google has incorporated new reports and debugging tools within Google Search Console to assist in managing this structured data. Dealerships have two options for adding their inventory- using structured data markup on their websites (the primary focus of this documentation) or uploading feed files through the vehicle listings partner portal. At present, the vehicle listing rich result is accessible in English and limited to the United States and its territories. It is compatible with both mobile and desktop interfaces. This update from Google offers car dealerships the opportunity to enhance their visibility in Google Search by utilizing new markup and structured data, a valuable resource for both car dealers and marketers. Google has introduced a rich result report within Search Console for tracking markup issues. This report categorizes items into valid and invalid groups for pages that employ structured data for vehicle listing markup. Google has also updated its Rich Results Test to support vehicle listing structured data. Users can either provide a page URL or a code snippet to the tool, instantly validating their markup without waiting for Rich result reports to be updated.
